LONDON: Visiting president of Bangladesh Cricket Board Nazmul Hasan Papan categorically said cricketers have to visit Pakistan because of International Cricket Council (ICC) obligation.
He came up with the remark while talking to journalists in a briefing on President Zillur Rahman’s heath condition at a London hotel on Thursday.
He said, “It was scheduled in the rules of business of ICC that Bangladesh Cricket team to visit Pakistan. The minutes were fixed before I’ve been appointed as BCB president. So, the cricketers have to play match in Pakistan for ICC requirement.”
Regarding security of Bangladesh Cricketers after attack launched on Sri Lankan team, Papan said, “Pakistan gave commitment to Bangladesh to ensure total security of our cricket team. A Bangladesh delegation already visited Pakistan to know about security measures. As per report of the delegation, they have arranged such security measures which is better than that usually taken for any head of the government.”
Bangladesh is the host county of T-20 world Cup-2014.   So, we have to take decision considering the tournament, the BCB boss added.
He said Bangladesh team was scheduled to visit Pakistan on December 17. But it was cancelled. The tour schedule will be fixed on January 10, 11 or 12.
